Purdue Wildlife Area Flight

Completed 1 hour of flight time with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro at the Purdue Wildlife Area. Conditions were scattered clouds with a slight breeze; however the temperature was 92 with a heat index of 103, just shy of the max operating temperature. Due to the extreme heat, performance of the UAS was severely limited. While no warnings were displayed by the controller, the battery and motors were hot to the touch after landing, and battery life was significantly shortened. After performing this flight, I acted as visual observer for lab partner Westin Miley for one hour.
